Creativity for me has been

A life long journey and a fantastic one at that! As I sit here and think to tell you about myself what do I want you to know? Well first what inspires me? I can be inspired by many things. Sometimes it's just the raw materials around me and my desire to see what I can do with them. How far can I go and what limits will they put on the intended design. Other times its purely a color, or a thought, or a desire to convey an emotional reaction to the work.

I have had this desire to create since 3rd grade. The only thing I ever wanted to be was an artist and I have spent my life exploring creativity in many ways. I mostly enjoy mediums where I can get my hands into things. Being able to take raw materials and turn them into something is the reward at the end of the day that makes me smile.

Many mediums have crossed my path on this journey thru life and each one has brought me something new. When it comes to design influences I have to say my favorite period in art history is are noveau. I love the graceful elegance and the intricate details that bring this period to life.

My work is always a process from which I learn as much about the work as I do about myself. I am always intrigued by the challenges each new day brings and love to explore all that I can. So I guess you can say I am one who always likes to learn, never knows enough always hungry for more. This means that I am always looking to incorporate new things and techniques into my designs. It also means more chances for serendipity! You know those wonderful moments in life that just happen!

My work can be anything from a beautiful brushed satin finish to a textured, hammered, oxidized surface. I also find that sometimes there is more beauty in imperfection and those are the pieces Ioften like best.

I hand make each item from scratch. That means you are getting a individual little piece of art for yourself. Something that speaks to you. In a world where so much is manufactured on a grand scale, its nice to take a moment to find something unique in this world that resonates with who we are. So come on in and browe around.
